ASSERT_GE(config_ibt, 0, "config_ibt_lower_bound");
ASSERT_LE(config_ibt, 1, "config_ibt_upper_bound");

Will print out actual value and a bit more meaningful error message if
checks fail. Without polluting output with stray printfs.
