John passed away on the 17th of January 2023. In a few words: Born blind, John lost his hearing at the age of 8, but this didn't stop him from excelling in his studies and becoming a software developer. He is the creator of liblouis and BrailleBlaster. He has also founded two non-profit companies: Computers to Help People, Inc (CHPI) in 1981 and Abilitiessoft, Inc. in 2006.
