There's also LXQT, which as the name suggests is a Qt version of LXDE(which is GTK based). There's also a couple dozen stand-alone window managers with different features claiming to be lighter than any complete DE(Aptitude lists 51 options for x-window-manager, though I don't know how many of them emphasize low resource usage).
