Howdy,

well, its an commandline application. so you have to set the shortcut to start an terminal emulator and run dragonFM inside. depends on what terminal emulator you use.
here an example for gnome-terminal.
gnome-terminal -- dragonfm

set this as shortcut, then gnome-terminal comes up with running dragonFM

this works for sure with other terminal emulators as well.

That works fine, can install now. Now back to tinkering with Strychinine so I can have it open DragonFM with a key shortcut instead of pcmanfm as well

Howdy,

Haha, I'm literaly a beer to code converter XD.

1. i wrote the package maintainer of python-inotify. lets see what happens
here.
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/python-inotify#comment-860793
2. i converted the code to python-inotify-simple. This can do almost the
same. But is a little slow while unregister watches. so closing tabs can
have sometimes a small delay. python-inotify is a lot faster. I choose
python-inotify-simple instead of the alternative python-pyinotify because
last one looks like crap to me.  also last update was about 10 years ago.
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/python-inotify-simple
3. i updated the AUR PKGBUILD to match the new dependency. we will revert
this as soon as the maintainer of python-inotify reacted, because the
performance here is better.

long story short: for now, you should be able to install it from AUR and all
should work as before (but a little more bad performance while close tabs)

Drunk coding is not really adviseable, lol.

I'm not sure which would work best actually, revert and have folks manually install inotify or try converting to python-pyinotify though

Howdy,

Sure can revert it til the dependency issue is fixed. But it might take a while, i‘m currently at an bar drink some cold beer.

Maybe i can rework it to use python-pyinotify instead of python-inotify. This is in official Arch Repository.

For now can you revert that change to the script? It built fine before and just needed the notify installed via pip to make it work, however I dunno enough about the other python-pynotify package at all though

Howdy,

Well I m not the maintainer of the python-inotify package. If it does not build please contact the maintainer.

Maybe i will replace this with python-pyinotify anytime. This is in official arch linux repos.

Failed to build and make the python inotify due to python2-nose is what I'm getting. Additionally the python-inotify you're using for the script is marked out of date. I'll try putting inotify back with pip and see if that gets around it again, though I'm not sure why it's failing to build.

Any other Arch users running into this or is it just me?
