Hi Chime, not a direct answer to your question but I recommend using instead pipe-viewer, also maintained by trizen: https://github.com/trizen/pipe-viewer, which doesn't need a YouTube API key. Also I suggest to switch from youtube-dl to yt-dlp which can do the same and more. if present it is also used as downloader by default in recent versions of mpv.
