Hi Ibrahim,

just plug-in the Slint installer and reboot.

If you are lucky the machine will boot from the installer.

When you will get the prompt, being logged in as root, you will be able to use the utilities included in the installer instead of typing auto or doc or setup.

It's bed time for me now, meanwhile if you tell by what you want to replace
Fedora on the internal drive I will tell you how to do that tomorrow.

If the firmware does not boot directly from the Slint installer you will need a
sighted help to choose the right option in the firmware's menu.

Cheers,
Didier

Hi Didier,

How do you do that? I have no idea what you meant. Can you give me more information?

Cheers,

Ibrahim

Hi Ibrahim,

Maybe you can make the needed changes from the Slint installer, if the firmware boots automatically from a plugged-in USB stick.

Didier

It already installed it to the system internal drive, unfortunately. The question is how to get red of it. I will have to get one of my sighted friends to reset my boot up options to default.

The bootloader checkbox is in the disk configuration. I'll have to look at it again to be sure, but if I remember correctly, it's in the window that pops up when you select the disk where you're installing the OS. Actually, I think it's a button or some such that says "do not install bootloader," but again, I'll have to look at it again. I do know there is a way to keep it from installing the bootloader, as well as a way to install to a different disk. By default, it installs to the system internal drive, which you do not want.
