Hi Ibrahim,

When using slapt-src the packages are built on your machine from scripts available at https://slackbuilds.org.

For that you need to first type as root:
slapt-src -u
or
slapt-src --update

This will update the local cache of the remote slackbuilds, writing the file:
/tmp/slapt-src/slackbuilds-data

To know more:
slapt-src --help
man slapt-src
https://slint.fr/doc/HandBook.html#software_management
and more specifically:
https://slint.fr/doc/HandBook.html#slapt_src

Cheers,
Didier

Thanks Didier,

I tried to install with both methods but I got a message that reads:

failed to open slackbuilds-data for reading. Unable to find all specified slackbuilds.

May be I need to download packages from somewhere? Cheers,

Ibrahim

Hi, in addition:

dance[~]$ LANG=C spi whatsapp
Available packages:
None

Available SlackBuilds:
pidgin-whatsapp [Not installed]: pidgin-whatsapp (WhatsApp Plugin for Pidgin) purple-gowhatsapp [Not installed]: purple-gowhatsapp (libpurple/Pidgin plugin for WhatsApp Web)
dance[~]$

To build and install, as root:
slapt-src -i pidgin-whatsapp
or
slapt-src -i purple-gowhatsapp

Caveat I didn't use these apps, not using Whatsapp so not having an account.

Cheers,
Didier

Hello folks,

I am wondering if any of you use an accessible Linux client for Whatsapp. What is the best way of using Whatsapp on Linux if no accessible client is available?

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Ibrahim
