Hi Brandt,
as the end of the world has been delayed...
Edit as root /etc/speech-dispatcher/speechd.conf to have in it this line:
DefaultModule voxin
Then, restart speechd-up
Cheers,
Didier

Hi Didier,
Ok then, my fault. I have an older version of the software, RC4 to be exact. However, interestingly enough, after installing the thing, I found it does work with Orca. I am just now trying to figure out how to make it work with speechd-up. If I cannot, it's not the end of the world.
Warm regards,

Hi Brandt,
either speech-dispatcher or the voxin installer is not up to date.
The output of :
ls /var/log/packages/speech-dispatcher*
should be:
/var/log/packages/speech-dispatcher-git246839de-x86_64-1slint
If not, you need to keep your system up to date.
As a reminder for whoever in the same situation, type as root:
slapt-het -u
slapt-get --upgrade
slapt-get--install-set slint
If yes, in case your voxin tarball be old, dowload the most recent one
(3.3rc5 at time of writing)
TIP: you always can get the currnet version re-using the same download link(s)
you got when buying the voice(s)
Then run the installer and just press Enter to agree
on all three questions
If all that fails, please get back to us.

Hi,
It's telling me, "your version of speachdispatcher has not been recognized" why it's doing that, I have no idea.

Hi,
I successfully installed Voxin on my Slint machine. At what point are
you having problems?
What I did was to
1. Tar xxfzv voxin-3.0.tar.gz
2. Change to the folder with the unzipped files with cd voxin-3.0/
3. Change to run as root with su and press enter.
4. As root, run the install script, ./instll.sh and you are done.
Good luck,

Hi all,
Ok, this one has been driving me crazy. I have successfully installed
eloquence on pure Arch, Manjaro, Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu and Mint. I just
cannot get the damn thing to install on my Slint system.
If anyone can help, I would be really grateful.
