Probably no significant difference.
In both case you will get the lowest speed on the route from the server
to the client (including the server's output speed), regardless of the
software used.

I know about axel and want to leave axel out of this comparison since some
web sites block axel though for large files when axel can be used it's
well worth the time savings.
