As far as I understand, xvfb is only for playing streams, although you can write
scripts which will use it when ripping a live stream.
In looking around in my aliases, this may also help.
alias ff "xvfb-run -a -s '-screen 0 640x480x16' firefox -no-remote -a nullvideo -P nullvideo "
That was written by a late Linux expert from our LUG who tried `really hard to
find me access to live streams.
