Okay, took some double checking of commands, syntax, and
capitalization to get ifup wlan0 to run without wpa_supplicant giving
me it's help page, but adding that to what I already had in my
interfaces file did the trick, and I've successfully unplugged the
ethernet cable without losing connectivity.
