Greetings!
I updated from gnome 3.16 to 3.18, and whatever came along for the ride,
on Saturday, 31 October. (I hadn't been able to boot up at all for a
while, but that's another story.) The GUI stuff I used had worked just
before the update, though with long-time quirks I hoped the update would
fix. Instead, I can't use Firefox or anything else with the GUI. Orca
comes up, usually, but I get a message that something's wrong and that
all extensions are disabled as a precaution.
An errors file I created directed me to Xorg.0.log and to the x.org
wiki, but I found nothing I could use there. A Google search also
didn't help. I've looked repeatedly at the log file but can't figure
out how to fix the "fatal error" it mentions in typical cryptic fashion.
I've pasted below the text of Xorg.0.log as I got it this morning in
the hope that somebody can point me in the right direction. As always,
I'll be very grateful for any help.
