Well, Shlomi, I will attempt to answer your questions. But first, in Pine I have
`all quoting disabled, so while you are interactively jumping among both sets of
our comments, I am mostly just hearing your actual live comments. Yes, I can
display a complete message on the fly, but since especially in Usenet, there was
`so much quoting, I ajusted my setting this way. And as far as your site, yes I
did notice a couple of "skip navigation" links, but sometimes I am quite curious
how long some1s toolbar will actually be? I remember at one time the LA Times
had 161 links before the printer friendly link.
As far as "rename" I am looking for similar functionality, as in DOS "ren" where
it would handle wild-cards quite well. In those days if I wanted to rename all
files in a directory, I could type
ren *.txt *.cnn
But so-far as you would see, "mmv" is on the road of what I am looking for.
yash is another shell. And yes, zsh seems to read funny with a screen-reader.
And as to your point about "thinking" as a concept, it probably took me around
2years to pattern out that I could use commands in DOS to perform additional
tasks. In the beginning some1 would send me tapes, listing commands to run
software, but once I realized, I could write my own batch files, I certainly had
a sense of freedom, which while I enjoy my time in Linux, I certainly am not as
indipendant. Thanks so much in advance
Hart
