Hello list,
I have one last question about the instal process before I give it a try. I'm following the instructions from the archlinux beginners guide.[1] Under the Heading "Create an initial ramdisk environment" it says, "Here you need to set the right hooks if the root is on a USB drive ..." Since I'm installing to an external drive, I presume that means me? I followed the link about mkinitcpio hooks.[2] According to the table provided, it looks like I need to make sure "block" is included in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf (after the autodetect hook). I plan on leaving the drive as one large partition; are there any other hooks that I need to be concerned about with reguards to installing on an external drive? Thank you.
