Re: external installation question

Hello list,
I have one last question about the instal process before I give it a try.

I'm following the instructions from the archlinux beginners guide.[1]  Under the Heading "Create an initial ramdisk environment" it says, "Here you need to set the right hooks if the root is on a USB drive ..."
Since I'm installing to an external drive, I presume that means me?  I followed the link about mkinitcpio hooks.[2]  According to the table provided, it looks like I need to make sure "block" is included in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf (after the autodetect hook).  I plan on leaving the drive as one large partition; are there any other hooks that I need to be concerned about with reguards to installing on an external drive?
