OK, thanks Dallas: I was mysteriously able to login to my home machine-and-installed xine-console. However, that name doesn't come up as a command or man-page, nor fbxine. Funny thing was, I actually did an
apt-get install xine?
that should have found that console package.
Unrelated, another LUG member got my sound working again aftr several weeks, he says a module wasn't loaded. Must be other modules not loaded, as when I exit a root session, says,
"su no specific module found"
Thanks in advance
Hart
