Hi,

Opensuse comes in a variety of live dvd options, including GNOME; it's 3.4.2, I think. There is no special 'live mode', just boot it. When the system is ready, you can just go to the 'run' dialogue with 'alt+f2' and type 'orca'. Note: The live system is very slow to start up. I think I waited over 2 minutes before I could start orca. Also, you may have to turn up your volumes and/or unmute your sound; use the media keys, if you have them.
