no-scroll boot option

when I used this in lilo.conf on slackware-13.0 with speakup it added 
speed to the screen reading that was going on with the litetalk 
synthesizer.  Apparently the default scrolling behavior poses a 
considerable drag on speakup when it's running for this speed increase to 
have happened.
