Hi, Iâm really glad that NASA is going to develop sonification functions for mainstream applications. At least that is what Iâm guessing you intend to do. I already use MathTrax and look forward to the introduction of even more functionality in the new packages that might be developed. Besides the programs Jason has suggested, I have a couple more to mention that I use. 1. R www.r-project.org R is a powerful statistical environment. Although R is primarily used for econometrics, finance, and statistics, it can do Math as well. The plotting capability of R is especially powerful. 2. Octave www.gnu.org/software/octave/ A popular way of describing Octave is to call it a clone of MATLAB. There is also Scilab, but Iâm not sure how accessible that program is. www.scilab.org Finally, Iâm going to forward your mail to another list where they might have more suggestions Regards Roopakshi from India --- On Fri, 10/1/10, Jim Stevenson <jims@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > From: Jim Stevenson <jims@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Subject: sonification of math functions? > To: blinux-list@xxxxxxxxxx > Date: Friday, October 1, 2010, 4:23 AM > Hi. > > Does sage or any linux math programs include any > sonification of functions? > > Which are the best math programs to write and menipulate > algebra formulas? > > How about calculous and definite and indefinate symbolic > integrals? > > How about solving equations? > > -- > > Thanks much again as always. > Jim > > > -- > > Jim Stevenson Ph.D > experimental psychologist, conducting sonification > research, > & certified master Ericksonian clinical > hypnotherapist. > jims@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > > (650) 604-5720 w > or leave message any time. > > ham call > wb6yoy > > > _______________________________________________ > Blinux-list mailing list > Blinux-list@xxxxxxxxxx > https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/blinux-list > _______________________________________________ Blinux-list mailing list Blinux-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/blinux-list
