I created a bootable memory stick (for some reason my netbook doesn't
recognize either usb cd drive though my linux laptop does) and got up
brltty. The error we are getting is "general error mounting filesystems"
and fstab looks just fine.

Can you get any live cd for your type of processor -- if not it was a
strange netbook.

It would appear that grml may not work as the netbook uses a lpia
processor and grml comes only in x86 and amd64 flavours.

Get the exact message and then use grml which does support brltty and
fix your fstab.

I have a Dell Netbook which is running Ubuntu. I am using a Baum
Bralleconnect 40 with usb. My netbook is coming up with an error on
bootup that my wife tells me reads something like "error mounting a
device in /etc/fstab" and then gives me the option to go to a recovery
prompt. If I run brltty at that point it appears to come up but does
not find my display. It is version 4.0 and was working with my
display earlier. If I run lsusb I do get a list of stuff and it
appears to recognize it if I plug in a usb memory stick. Can anyone
hlep with suggestions? I would settle for speech at this point or is
this a case where we break out the usb cdrom and rebuild the system
from scratch?
Thanks
Tom
