Do you mean the O'Reilly book titled "Linux Cookbook"? I'm thinking there
cannot be another one. But that book and all O'Reilly books are on the
bookshare.org web site.
I'm not sure if you have to register to download those O'Reilly books. I
would assume so. But it is well worth it.

Is there a way I can download the online linux cookbook and read it
offline in a text file?

I'm using windows xp,
To use wget, you'd either have to download a version for Win32,
or if you have the cygwin toolkit installed, use that.
