No, no! I have yet to see a circumstance where USB serial ports work.
They configure differently. That's the reason, i.e. as ttyUSB0 rather
than ttyS0.

Yes, but you must also be careful here. Your card must support the
standard serial port addresses.

To be safe, be sure you can get your money back if you go this route.
