No, I should never do such a thing, ttsynth is a good synthesizer, and it
doesn't cost much either.
One question though, when you buy the expensive things from ibm, what
exactly do you get in that package?
I'm not planning to buy it, just want to know.

the ibmtts core of TTSynth is not open source. We've done what we can to
make the supporting files open, however.
Anyone seeking that voice legitametly, needs to buy the voice
legitametly. It sounded to me as though some people were either unclear
about this, or simply choosing to ignore it.

Well, I believe there is a gnome speech module for ttsynth on the
ttsynth homepage and under downloads.
Download that module, compile it, and then install ttsynth.
I installed it with dpkg-i and then the ttsynth package name.
Then I entered my serial number and that stuff.
I think you need to install another package as well, I think I've got
that one somewhere here in my computer. if you want it I can send it to
you.
