Progress with 2.6.24.x kernels?

Hi,

How is speakup going with linux 2.6.24?
I got the patch from git and read a few documents.

Can I patch speakup still and build all synths into my linux-2.6.24 kernel?

I am using linux-2.6.23 with the speakup fedora modified patch at the minute.
So are there any benefits using the patch in git with 2.6.24 kernels?

So if I can install and use all synths with 2.6.24 then what are the patches in the /speakup/patches directory for?

Oh and BTW is there a way I could just git the latest kernel so I wouldn't have to go to kernel.org?

Thanks,
