Rather than that device I would recommend another gnu/Linux based
device to consider the Bookeen which you can read about at
http://www.bookeen.com/.  It is less expensive, plays many more
formats out of the box, easier to look at for sighted folk and has a
policy of free updates for software based enhancements.  The Amazon
offering isn't even in the same ballpark in my opinion.
