Well Ganina-and-Christopher, 1 option might be trying Jupiter, as it has all 
kinds of tones while booting.  Howeve, I don't know whether Jupiter supports 
software speech?
As faras comparing remote unix shell verses home machine, I get a much higher 
through put on shellworld than my home machine, especially when aggregating 
binary messages in pine to uudeview
