What to press in gnopernicus?

Hi,
I have to learn to use gnopernicus as far as it is usable.
It is talking using freetts and does not crash, but i do not know when to press what to get anything done. When a sighted person worked with the mouse, there was a lot of intellegebil speech. I could follow what he was doing, almost. I have got the key bindings, so, one example of doing something under gnome might be enouth.

If anyone of you have been there where i am now and has progressed to using gnopernicus for anything close to real work, please mail me. Some times the arrows talk, sometimes not. the same with tab. I do not seem to find a real explannation for that as i do not think it is a bug in the program, but rather my lack of knowledge.
TIA
Willem
