Tiger is compatible with some G3 Macs, but things will work quite a bit smoother with 512 MB RAM. How much RAM do you have? What vintage or speed is your PowerMac? The essential minimal specs are FireWire and 256 MB RAM. DVD-ROM isn't listed, but it sure makes things easier. You don't need the FireWire to install (unless you are using an external drive) but this basically weeds out machines from before 1999. Yes, a six year old Mac runs the latest version of the operating system, so long as you have buffed out the RAM. MS Windows XP is four years old. How well does XP run on a six year old PC with 512 MB RAM? Is a stock PC from last year likely to be able to run Longhorn? http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/requirements.html _______________________________________________ Blinux-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/blinux-list
