I'd try yasr which is text terminal instead, because as far as I could see,
gnopernicus doesn't work well at all yet. You can use yasr with eflite
synthesizer, unfortunately I don't have the web site address but try google
and I think you get it on debian distribution. If you want, I can also send
some beginners books for linux which I'm also trying to use to get started
you can just email off-list.
