I'd try yasr which is text terminal instead, because as far as I could see, gnopernicus doesn't work well at all yet. You can use yasr with eflite synthesizer, unfortunately I don't have the web site address but try google and I think you get it on debian distribution. If you want, I can also send some beginners books for linux which I'm also trying to use to get started you can just email off-list. I'm a teacher of the visually impaired in Los Alamos, New Mexico and I'm looking for some help. I have a high school sophomore that is taking a Linux class. He is using some magnification, but based on his limited vision, he is having difficulty. He really needs some sort of speech output. I would appreciate any suggestions, help, information. > > Thank you, > > Peggy Sinclair-Morris > > Teacher of the Visually Impaired > > Los Alamos Public Schools > > Barranca Mesa Elementary School > > 57 Loma del Escolar > > Los Alamos, NM 87544 > > 505/663-2730 > > p.morris@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > > > > > > _______________________________________________ > > > > Blinux-list@xxxxxxxxxx > > https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/blinux-list > > > > Fedora Core 2(RedHat 11), after an "everything" install, has a package called Gnopernicus which is part of Gnome. This might be helpful. Gnopernicus is only available after an "everything" install. > > -- > Karl Wilbur > karl@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx > www.karlwilbur.net > ----------------------------- > Registered Linux user #307374 > http://counter.li.org/ > ----------------------------- > > > _______________________________________________ > > Blinux-list@xxxxxxxxxx > https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/blinux-list > _______________________________________________ Blinux-list@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/blinux-list
