set your DISPLAY variable to some or other valid x server.
The oracle client library needs to be on the machine and then the sqlplus etc. need to be linked to it.
If you only need sqlpplus on the client machine, there is a few ways of doing that.

I'm trying to install the Oracle client software on a RH AS machine.
It has a GUI installation wizard but you are supposted to be able to get around it with command line switch and a text file that answers all the questions in the wizard.
But the wizard still has to make a connection to an X server which is pretty brain dead, IMO. Does anyone know how I can do this?
I'm connected to the machine via ssh.
