Hello folks, I was finally able to install Fedora Core 2 onto my laptop, and as usual, I have a couple of questions. With Slackware 9.1, the ALSA drivers would load automatically, regardless of which user logged in. In Fedora Core 2, the only way to access my sound drivers is to first login as root, modprobe my card, and do a alsactl restore. I've tried adding these commands to /etc/profile, /etc/modules.conf, /etc/modprobe.conf, and even my local /.bash_profile file. However, none of these methods is successful. Do I need to give my default user extra privelages which are disabled with the adduser command? Should I reenable kudzu to scan for my hardware each time I boot the system? As always, feedback is appreciated. Thanks, Steve Stephen Clower, that guy from the south.
