Hi,
look at the following files:
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
That is the file that has the configuration information in.
Also look at /etc/sysconfig/network
The gateway setting might be in that one.
The bootproto setting in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 
determines if
you are using static or dhcp.
You can make changes using a text editor and then do
service network restart for the settings to take effect.
As a blind person i find it a lot easyer to edit these files than to try 
using the various configuration tools.
