The problem
+is that after October 15th we will no
longer be able to connect to MSN Messenger throu any 3rd-party apps as
Microsoft+is looking to get paid in yet another
area or something. They claim it's about security but we all know where
they
+really stand on that issue.
*SNIP*

what's happening is after october 15th, microsoft is still going to
allow third party apps to connect to their messenger service.
however, what is going to happen is that microsoft are going to sell
licences to the developers of said third party apps so that they may
continue to connect.
how does this affect us,
it's quite possible that we may no longer have support for msn messenger
which is no skin off my nose as I still use windows anyway, no choice,
they teach us that evil os. lol.
I saw a post on the sydney linux users group earlier this week on a
similar issue.
we'll just have to see how this pans out.
