The basic problem is that glibc-2.3 (which comes with RH9) isn't sufficiently
backward compatible with glibc-2.1 (which ViaVoice was developed against). The
first step, therefore, is to put together a collection of the glibc-2.1 shared
objects. The second step is to edit any existing binary such that it points to
a glibc-2.1 compatible dynamiccally linked executable interpreter (ldlinux.so).
The third step is to put together the right compile command so that new
ViaVoice applications can be built. I've almost done all of the above, and,
when done, intend to publish a tar file which contains everything which is
needed. I've taken a little extra long because I'm also tackling the somewhat
more complicated speech-to-text component.
