So which is the problem, the rpm's of the development kit or also the MySQL server? The server seems to be fine, works with Perl, etc. Are you suggesting I install from the .gz files both the MySQL-devel and mysql++? The way I managed finally to get mysql itself working was by installing the binary package that was stored in a .tar.gz file. I'm using slackware 9_0 though.
