No, that should be enough. Maybe the alsa you using is to old and you have to build a newer version to get your card working. But try first with a newer kernel... You need the module i810_audio and if this module is not in your actual kernel you can build a new kernel with this module..., my 2.4.20 has this module. Also try the newer kernel from SuSE ftp-Server..., maybe there is the module allreade integrrated.
