Unfortunately the speakup keys don't work untill you select a keymap.  The
first screen will test your CD-ROMS to be sure they are not corrupt.  You
can skip this if you are sure you have good CD's.  Just press enter to
test your install CD.  Once this is done, you can select your keymap.
Choose a speakup keymap.  Then, Speakup will work as expected.
