I use the HandyTech Braille Star 40 via USB.
Kernel patch went into 2.4.20, see brltty-3.2/Drivers/HandyTech/README.USB

Apart from that, the Tieman Voyager has a kernel module and
brltty support too.  

Aprart from that, I do not know any USB based displays
supported by brltty.  If your display supports serial
connections, and your laptop for instance, only has a USB port,
you can still get it working by using a USB->Serial adaptor.
