The "apropos" (aka "man -k") command only looks at documentation stored in the man page system. On a typical Linux distribution, you should also check:

1) the "info" system. "man info" will help. It is designed for text GUI, I don't know if there is a non-visual reader.

2) Many files under /usr/share, particularly /usr/share/doc/*.
