Kevin, Your computer will work fine with Gnopernicus. I'm not sure about your speech synthesizer. However, Gnopernicus is still very much in the testing stage. I don't think that it is possible to get good work done with it. Of course, if you like testing stuff, Gnopernicus is fine, but it's definitely not a task for a newbie to tackle. You would probably be best off with speakup.
