Hmm. He should've come here for help. :) I know for a fact that sound
and the modem work on a Thinkpad (at least, *this* Thinkpad). I expect
the hardware's similar on the TP600. It is a bit perplexing that he
couldn't get sound to work, as I'm sure SUSE comes with ALSA, and i
think Mandrake might as well. And he obviously didn't check out
www.linmodems.org either. (Lucent modems, which is what IBM machines
seem to have if they don't have a crappy MWave modem) work
fine. ... But I take his point.
