Michael: I don't know getright, so can't comment about it. I can tell you that ncftp will simply offer to resume a download if it finds the same file name on your system. Regardless, downloading approximately 2Gb of data is clearly a daunting task over a 56K modem. ;You might want to consider investing in a set of stock Red Hat CD ROMs instead. Were you to do that, you would then need only download the appropriate floppy disk images, imaging tools, and Speakup Modified kernel to transform your installation into a Speakup Modified installation. This is described in the current, 1.0 version of the installation HOWTO at: http://www.linux-speakup.org/ftp/disks/redhat/HOWTO_INSTALL.html On Tue, 30 Jul 2002, Michael Weaver wrote: > Hi! > I am trying to download the Speakup modified Redhat. > I am using Getright but the problem is I was past 15% yesterday but when I > tried to resume the download this morning I went back to 3% and 21 Megs > which should have been 100 meg. > Could anyone please tell me what is going wrong? > I have tried both resuming from both the my computer and clicking on the > file to continue the download and have tried in the program as well and > still the same result which is frustrating as I only have a 56 K MODEM. > If I were to change my FTP Client or download Manager to NCSFTP how would > you go about resuming a file and also how would you get the best possible > speed from NCSFTP? > > > > _______________________________________________ > > Blinux-list@redhat.com > https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/blinux-list > -- Janina Sajka, Director Technology Research and Development Governmental Relations Group American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) Email: janina@afb.net Phone: (202) 408-8175 Chair, Accessibility SIG Open Electronic Book Forum (OEBF) http://www.openebook.org
