rpi4 and r-car3 refhw -- but theoretically any device with multiple
connectors can probably use this

If the client wants to have access to the DRM nodes, then there's a
library [1] to do that. This would be situation where the client could
be like a compositor.

Otherwise you wouldn't really care, this would be irrelevant to the
client.
