Please find below a brief summary of the progress Collabora have made last week on Weston/Wayland and Pipewire.
Weston/Wayland
Marius:
- SPEC-3423 (Demo apps should fetch the protocol extension from the compositor) - minor re-work for the homescreen, launcher, cluster-receiver and alexa-viewer to fetch the protocol extensions directly
- SPEC-1169 (Enable gstreamer video playback support for agl-service-mediaplayer/scanner) - started looking into adding gstreamer playback support
PipeWire / WirePlumber
George:
- SPEC-3957: fixed the timerfd deadlock issue that caused freezes on upsquare and minnowboard
- Worked with the upstream yocto maintainer of the pipewire recipes to debug an issue that prevented the wireplumber recipe from building on yocto master
- Reviewed various wpipc fixes from Julian
