Collabora weekly progress w/e 7th March 2021

Hi All,

Please find below a brief summary of the progress Collabora have made last week on Weston/Wayland and Pipewire.

Weston / Wayland

Marius

- SPEC-3820 and SPEC-3777, for improving agl-compositor docs and adding some initial docs about Waltham set-up.

- SPEC-3818 (cluster dashboard opens on second display when multiple displays are enabled) - due to some shortcomings client shells can't be migrated/placed on a different output just by tweaking the config file. Some alternatives have been proposed, waiting for further discussion.

- SPEC-3629 (Demo camera streaming) - Tested udev rule on a rpi4 + camera-gstreamer application. Integration patches have been posted. Reached out to rpi4 forum community to inquire about v4l2 dma buf issue I'm seeing, in the hopes I might get some further information.

- SPEC-3796 (Cannot re-launch GUI application after it is killed by kill command) - minor tweaks to commit description to clarify the issue is fixing

Pipewire & WirePlumber (IC Sound Manager)

- Improved some wireplumber lua API details, related to looking up and iterating objects

- Investigated what needs to be changed to support AGL's policy on top of the current version of WirePlumber

Julian

- Completed agl-service-audiomixer changes and posted them in gerrit:
