[agl-dev-community] Using waltham receiver/transmitter

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,

I'm interested in using the waltham receiver/transmitter for screen sharing use-case in my Yocto build. I'm not using AGL at the moment. The hardware is arm64 with Mali GPU (no VPU).

I have not found much information about the project:
* code here: https://gerrit.automotivelinux.org/gerrit/gitweb?p=src/weston-ivi-plugins.git;a=tree * some WIP documentation here: https://gerrit.automotivelinux.org/gerrit/c/src/weston-ivi-plugins/+/24571 * some RFC here: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/wayland/weston/-/merge_requests/349

My hardware does not provide the H.264 video encoding/decoding support.
I plan to use/test the performance of the software pipelines first:
https://gerrit.automotivelinux.org/gerrit/gitweb?p=src/weston-ivi-plugins.git;a=blob;f=waltham-receiver/receiver_pipeline_example_general.cfg;h=be4d562ec433e507938d8d51081ef05aed95bfae;hb=b880c4be2c645a95794a30742067e5841c3c7feb

I'm also thinking that maybe sending raw video stream is an option (if
the devices will be directly connected over Gbit Ethernet in local network).

Anyone here has tried using waltham receiver/transmitter without VPU support? Or any other practical hints about the waltham receiver/tranmistter usage?

Thanks,
