I try to reproduce your issue:
1) Image:
2) using virtual BOX (VirtualBox Version 6.0.12_SUSE r132055) on openSUSE 15.0.
If you using another VM manager let me know, and sand your command line.
3) boot image
4) remove taskmanager
afm-util remove taskmanager@0.1
5) reboot
6) install
afm-util install ./taskmanager.wgt
7) reboot
8) -> taskmanager is up and work fine.
So I can't reproduce your issue for now.

Here is how I build the app:
1. Run : source /opt/agl-sdk/8.99.1-corei7-64/environment-setup-corei7-64-agl-linux
2. Go to the autobuild folder in taskmanager app, run ./autobuild package to build the taskmanager.wgt (this was successful)
3. Launch the AGL img in qemu, remove the original taskmanager app by afm-util remove
4. scp the wgt file into /tmp and install it afm-util install taskmanager.wgt
But after reboot the system, the LAUNCHER is now completely empty. And running afm-util list will not list the taskmanager app.
Is this the right way to build and install wgt?
