There is a utility named `athtestcmd` that is used for manufacturing
and regulatory testing. Unfortunately I do not know how Atheros
distributes this tool and have limited experience with it.

Are you using the AR6004? We are using an AR6003, currently with
3.2.0.265 firmware -- with newer firmware, experience kernel lockup
within 24 hours of uptime (strange, I know -- why would firmware on
the external chip cause a lockup in the ath6kl driver). Running the
3.8.8 kernel with 3.18 backports.
