Tiago - The OpenSuSE 10.3 RC2 Livecd has way too many issues to even begin trying to debug dmraid. I was unable to get it to boot properly on any of our ICH9 platforms. The KIWI image loader manages to loose CD-ROM drives that are attached to the system via SATA or USB. It errors out with "Failed to detect CD drive !" Our platforms lack any PATA ports... So I was unable to test with an old PATA cd-rom. I'll see if I can get the 10.3 RC2 livecd to boot from PXE, but I'm very doubtful that it will work. I would recommend using RC1 if you have to use OpenSuSE 10.3. - Eric >-----Original Message----- >From: ataraid-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ataraid-list- >bounces@xxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Tiago Freitas >Sent: Friday, September 28, 2007 4:39 PM >To: Fang, Ying >Cc: ATARAID (eg, Promise Fasttrak, Highpoint 370) related discussions; >heinzm@xxxxxxxxxx >Subject: Re: isw device for volume broken after opensuse livecd boot > >Thanks that's what I originally thought. > >I have now confirmed the bug in the opensuse 10.3 RC2 livecd / dmraid >or device-mapper / OROM. > >I deleted the RAID0 volume, disconnected the third drive that wasn't >part of the raid and chose one of the hitachis for RAID1 rebuild. >Then I created a new RAID0 volume, so the raid0 was online and raid1 >degraded. > >I then booted the opensuse livecd and just entered a root terminal and >typed "dmraid -ay".
