patch tracking

Hello,

As the development pace is faster than that of release, I’m wondering how the patch tracking works. For example, there are two outstanding patches for rc14:

            Patch1: a new feature added on rc14.

            Patch2: a bug fix at the rc14.

A new patch Patch3 is required to fix a bug caused by Patch1. Is it to possible to recall Patch1? If not, should Patch3 include Patch1 change when diff is applied?

In addition, another new feature is developed based on all the changes from patch 1 to 3. What is the diff against rc14 or (rc14+Patch1+Patch2+Patch3)?

Thanks,

Ying
