RE: Fasttrak raid 0

The drives are two ST3120026AS. Windows sees C / H / S = 232514 / 16 / 63, which gives 234374112 total sectors. Linux sees total 234375000 sectors; so it might well be seeing the wrong disk size.

Thanks,

Erlend

Hrm, I wonder if this is another case of wrong disk size
reported by the kernel.
Does the kernel reported size equal the drive manufactorer's ?

Where should the metadata be on the drives in FastTrak raid 0? I'm asking because I've heard it should be in the last 265 sectors of each drive in the array, but mine lies in 234374049 to 234374055 on a disk sized 234375000 sectors, so dmraid doesn't detect the raid. I'm wondering if I could:
echo "0 234374055 linear /dev/sdX 0" | dmsetup create hdX
X=[a,b]
and then run dmraid, so that it will pick up hda and hdb and raid them?

Thanks,

Erlend
